Join our team to support the
March for Babies
in Lansing!

A team called Nutrition Expedition has been formed for interested members of the L
ansing Area Nutrition Professionals and Students group and our families, friends and coworkers. If you’re interested in participating as part of the team (walking and/or donating), visit Nutrition Expeditions team page

The March of Dimes’ March for Babies (formerly Walk America) is at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25 in downtown Lansing.  As the March of Dimes biggest fundraiser, March for Babies supports research and programs to help prevent premature birth, birth defects and infant death.  Their mission is, “One day…all babies will be born healthy.”

LDA is not able to hold the Food & Fitness 5K Run/Walk in 2009.  On the traditional date of the race, the "Run For The House" will take place on March 28th, 2009,10:00 a.m. at Hawk Island.  Help make a difference for families of seriously ill children. Your participation in the Run For The House 5K Run/Walk will help the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan provide a home-away-from-home for those families who have a child being hospitalized or receiving treatment at Lansing-area hospitals and clinics.  The House offers a comfortable, inexpensive and private place for families to sleep, eat and relax.  Here families find a caring atmosphere where they can receive strength and encouragement from others who are also going through difficult times.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The Lansing Dietetic Association (LDA) is on hiatus for the 2008-09 membership year due to vacant president and president–elect positions.

In light of this, LDA is not able to hold the Food & Fitness 5K Run/Walk in 2009.

We appreciate the past and current support of LDA members and the community.

The good news is that LDA can be revitalized.  If you are a member of ADA/MDA and would like more information about volunteer leadership opportunities with LDA, please e-mail webmaster@eatrightlansing.org

In the meantime, we will continue to communicate with Lansing area nutrition professionals and students via our e-mail list. If you would like to receive e-mail updates and if you are a nutrition professional or student residing in Clinton, Eaton, Ingham or Livingston counties (Michigan), please e-mail webmaster@eatrightlansing.org.

  • Obtain CPE credits by attending programs and/or serving as a Board member.

  • Enhance resume by participating in volunteer activities.

  • Network with other nutrition professionals to share information, ideas, resources, and career opportunities.

  • Support Lansing area food banks and educate local residents about nutrition and physical activity through the LDA Food-N-Fitness 5K Run/Walk.
